3 Cup
Broth - Beef
1/4 Cup
Sherry - Dry
1/2 tsp
Worcestershire Sauce
Basic Brown Sauce

This basic brown sauce can be used ‘as is’ and is great with Ham or Veal however it is the base for many more flavorsome sauces.

  1. Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat
  2. Add the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring continuously
  3. Gradually add the broth while continuing to stir
  4. Add the sherry and worcestershire sauce then season to taste with salt and pepper
  5. Simmer gently for 10 minutes
