- Tomatoes - Canned, Chopped
- 2 Tbsp
- Basil - Dried
- 1 tsp
- Sugar - White

- Oregano - Dried
- 1/2 tsp
- Salt
- 1/2 tsp
- Pepper - Ground Black
- 1 Cup
- Cream - Heavy Whipping
- 2 Tbsp
- Butter

This wonderful Italian creamy tomato sauce is a perfect accompaniment to our Chianti Braised Short Ribs
- Finely chop the shallots and garlic
- In a saucepan, saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat
- Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper
- Bring to boil and continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates
- Remove from heat and stir in whipping cream and butter.
- Return to heat and simmer 5 more minutes
