With tender juicy chunks of chicken, tomatoes, stir-fried peppers and onions Jalfrezi is a delightfully refreshing curry.
To make this recipe you will need to already have some Curry Base and Pre-Cooked Chicken.
The recipe ‘as is’ is very mild, if you’d like to add heat you can add Jalapeno’s or other hot peppers to the recipe.
- Dice the onion and peppers
- Stir-Fry the onions and peppers then set aside.
- Heat 200 ml of base in the pan
- Mix the tomato paste with 2 tablespoons of water
- Add the tomato paste, garlic/ginger paste, mix powder, chilli powder, salt, and fenugreek, stir in well
- Reduce this mixture right down until you have a thick dry paste
- Add your chicken and pre-fried vegetables
- Add the other half of the base gravy and stir in well
- Reduce to the level or consistency that you want
- Add the sugar and stir in
- Cut tomatoes into quarters
- Add tomato quarters and garnish with cilantro
