Coarsely ground white or black peppercorns
1/2 Cup
Vinegar - White Wine
2 Tbsp
Finely chopped shallots or sweet onions
1 To Taste
Salt
Oysters Mignonette

This recipe can also be made using red wine vinegar, or you can make it fancy with Champagne vinegar.

It is very simple to make but a family favorite!

  1. Combine all ingredients and chill. Serve with chilled oysters or clams on the half shell.
  2. If you prefer cooked oysters....
  3. Place oven rack on second to top rung. and preheat oven to 400˚F
  4. Put a tablespoon of Mignonette on each oyster
  5. Bake for about 5 minutes, you can finish under a broiler for a minute if desired to brown the shallot a little
