A welsh dish which combines potatoes and turnips to make a delicious buttery puree which is amazing served with ham or other cold meats.
- Peel the potatoes and cut into large chunks
- Peel the turnips and cut into large chunks
- Boil the potatoes and turnips in separate saucepans until tender, probably around 20-30 minutes
- Drain well and mash them separately, using half the butter in each (it is important to not mix the potato and turnip until each has been mashed separately)
- Combine the mashed turnip and mashed potatoes, season with salt and pepper to taste and beat thoroughly.
- Make several holes in the puree with the end of a wooden spoon then pour the cream into the holes
- Serve very hot,
